Installation of Decorative Plates
Tools and Materials
Before starting it is recommended:
- Check the condition of the plate upon receipt, remember that imperfections in the corners can be cut before installation.
- To avoid breakages and bumps, the plate should be carried between two people, avoiding resting the plate on its corners.
- Check that the wall does not have any type of irregularity since the plate could absorb it and thus lose its level.
- Evaluate that the wall is free of moisture, dust, grease or any substance that could compromise adhesion.
- Reserve a work area considering the dimensions of the plate in order to safely manipulate the cutting tools.
Core items:
- Radial with saw cutting disc suitable for cutting aluminum.
- H40 Extreme Glue or Hybrid Silicone from Kerakoll, of this last adhesive you can choose the different colors depending on the type of plate.
- Wedges and joints to fix the product at level.
- Sealant to fill joints.
- It is recommended to follow the instructions and use personal protective equipment during the installation process.
Facility
Plate cutting:
- Place the decorative plate against the wall and mark any areas that require special cuts, such as holes or custom spaces.
- Use a suitable pencil or marker to make the marks.
- Before making cuts, make sure the printed side of the board is facing up to avoid errors.
- Use a radial saw with a cutting disc suitable for cutting aluminum.
- Make sure you have the proper protective equipment, such as safety glasses and gloves.
- Make the cuts according to the marks previously made, making sure to follow straight and precise lines.
Installation process:
- Place the plate with the non-printed side facing you and remove the protective film from the back. This will allow the silicone to be applied to the five main points of the plate.
- Apply Kerakoll brand H40 Extreme or Hybrid Silicone glue to the five main points of the plate, making sure to cover an adequate surface to ensure good adhesion.
- Place the plate in the desired position, pressing gently against the wall to ensure optimal adhesion. Make sure it is level by using shims and edge gaskets, if necessary.
- Repeat the process with the other plates until the entire desired surface is covered.
